Mark the start of the Holy Week journey - the week leading to Easter - with a walk. We’ll take a route around the city walls, noting the four gates as we recall the gate of Jerusalem, and making our way to the cross at the heart of Chester (at The Cross). We’ll be inspired by the scriptural events of Holy Week, and the medieval Chester monk who wrote of the city’s pattern of a cross and gateways, and the walk will be a companionable stroll.
Please be ready to walk with a group, and wear footwear and clothing suitable for an April walk. Surfaces are generally uneven and there are steps on the route.
We’ll meet for 10am outside 9 Abbey Square, and end our route at The Cross (middle of town). There’s an invitation then to stay on for coffee, maybe in the cathedral (when we will each buy our own).
