A special summer event, coming together and travelling together.

Join us for an afternoon on the river - a summer boat trip along the peaceful River Dee. The two-hour cruise on one of Chester’s iconic riverboats glides past the Meadows and just beyond the city as far as the Iron Bridge on the Eaton Estate, and back, enjoying the gentle river, its banks and wildlife.

These two hours on the water are a chance to step aside a while, slow down to a gentler way of travelling, find ‘flow’, enjoy our surroundings and appreciate the company of others. With just a little quiet time woven into our time together (and a chance to spend time with friends old and new), we’ll return to land refreshed and restored.

For this journey we’ll be seated together on the lower deck (which is less weather-dependent!), with the chance too to move about the boat. Tea and coffee are included.

Please join us for this special event in our Sabbath Year, ahead of a summer break and the launch of our new programme in September. It’s seems good that it’s also the Feast of St Benedict, whose monastic way is woven into the story of Chester and inspires us at Retreat House Chester… so a day to celebrate!
