For our first event after a summer break, we’re going to walk. Marking the start of the month, we’ll walk a pilgrim route (more or less) between Chester and Christleton and back, taking the canal path which is part of the Two Saints Way. We’ll take time in Christleton to explore just a little, based around St James’s Church, and have a packed lunch . Our return route includes the option of walking as far as the Cathedral. We’ll suggest times of walking alone and walking together.
The walk of about three miles each way (so six in total, slightly more if returning to the Cathedral) is a relatively easy route, mostly along level ground with a few steps that can be avoided on slopes and some slightly uneven ground with further slopes along the way. The canal path can be narrow in places and there are short distances along a country road. We walk at our own risk: please wear comfortable shoes and we do ask that you are confident to walk this distance at a reasonable pace with a group, perhaps in some heat.
IMPORTANT: Coronavirus guidance will be followed by RHC, and the walk may need us to adopt certain measures.
10.30am - 2.30pm approx: please bring a packed lunch and water. We expect there to be WC facilities available to us in Christleton.
