with Julia McGuinness

The noise of everyday life can be stimulating, distracting and sometimes overwhelming. Yet underneath what is happening on the surface, lies what is going on. Poet Annie Lighthart writes of a ‘Second Music,’ one ‘less heard/yet always present.’

As we help one another to wholeness, we need to discern this second music of our lives, to identify underlying themes; the discords seeking harmony; the melodies that need drawing out. In this day we will explore ways of tuning in to a deeper listening when we engage with others one-to-one.

This day will suit both those who work one-to-one and also those who have ever wondered how we can listen more deeply.

Julia is a Reader in the Ellesmere Port Team Parish. As Creative Connections Cheshire she brings together her work as a writer, counsellor and workshop leader. Her most recent books are Writing our Faith and a book of poetry on Chester City Walls

Please note that this day is different from that previously advertised, after a change of speaker.  Thank you.
