led by David McKenna, World Community of Christian Meditation
This day will provide both an introduction to, and experience of, Christian Meditation, along with an outline of the World Community of Christian Meditation (WCCM). The roots of the World Community lie in the desert tradition of early Christianity dating back to the 4th century, and WCCM was formed in the twentieth century to nurture and share the practice of meditation, with an emphasis on combining the contemplative and active dimensions of life.
“Meditation is a universal spiritual wisdom and a practice found at the core of all the great religious traditions, leading from the mind to the heart. It is a way of simplicity, silence and stillness… It is only necessary to be clear about the practice and then to begin – and to keep on beginning.” (WCCM)
